I always grew up playing sports and have a very athletic background. I played football, baseball, basketball, ice hockey, and rugby. I was always looking for the best way to get the most out of my body, and fitness was always a major component of my goals and endeavors. My training was taken to an entirely new level when I started playing college football. I was nominated team captain and received All American honors.
After graduating, I played rugby for the Denver Barbarians and was introduced to CrossFit-style movements from our then-coach, Jason Kelly. Immediately I was hooked. You may know this about me or not, but everything is a competition – from how much you lift to how many donuts you can eat in a sitting. I love competing and CrossFit became a way to improve my fitness and strength goals and do it competitively.
Outside of the gym, I love to be active outdoors. From skiing and snowboarding in the winter to riding my motorcycle and going hiking in the summer, I love it all. But, my favorite activity outside of the gym is being a Dad, so if I talk your ear off about my daughter, then well too bad.
Over the years, I have had the privilege of coaching all around the world – in places like Denver, Chicago, and Vienna, Austria. I am super stoked to be a part of the rise community. It is the best place I have been yet!
